Mississippi Roof Grant Program Will Offer Up to $10,000 for FORTIFIED Roof Upgrades

The Mississippi Insurance Department is preparing to launch the Strengthen Mississippi Homes Program, a roof-mitigation grant program for eligible homeowners.

The initial rollout is expected to focus on Gulf Coast homeowners insured through the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association, often called the wind pool. Eligible homeowners may be able to receive up to $10,000 toward upgrades that bring a roof to the FORTIFIED Roof™ standard.
