Westport homeowners can get up to $21,000 for repairs
If you own and live in your home in Westport, Massachusetts, you may be able to get up to $21,000 to fix important problems in your house.
This program is called CRE-HAB. It helps low- and moderate-income homeowners make safety and code repairs.
What the money can pay for
- Roof repairs or replacement
- Plumbing and electrical fixes
- Heating system upgrades
- Windows and siding
- Foundation and water-infiltration repairs
- Accessibility updates like wheelchair ramps
Who can apply
- You must own and live in the home (owner-occupied)
- The home must be in Westport
- The property must be assessed at $450,000 or less
- You must meet local income limits and other program rules
How the grant is paid back
The funding is issued as a deferred payment loan. That means no monthly payment. If you sell or transfer the home before 10 years, part of the loan may need to be repaid.
How to apply
- Get an application packet from Westport Town Hall (816 Main Road, 2nd floor) or from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund website
- Submit your completed application and required documents
- For help, contact the Housing Assistance Office (open Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Deadline
Applications are open now through December 28, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.
