Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC)
Program Overview
Louisiana offers down payment assistance to help cover upfront costs. Amount is up to $15,000 or 5% of loan amount (whichever is less), provided as second lien on property with 0% interest. Loan is forgiven after 10 years if you remain in the home. Covers down payment and/or closing costs. Only repayable if you sell, refinance, or pay off within 10 years.
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be combined with LHC first mortgage\n• Subject to LHC mortgage eligibility requirements\n• Forgiveness requires 10 years of occupancy

• LHC mortgage loan required\n• Complete homebuyer education\n• Standard mortgage documentation
How to Apply
1. Apply for LHC mortgage through approved lender\n2. Request Down Payment Assistance\n3. Lender coordinates DPA with mortgage\n4. Receive assistance at closing as second mortgage\n5. Remain in home 10 years for full forgiveness
